
On April 16th, the FDA will meet with officials in DC to discuss lowering the restrictions associated with participating in oncology trials in hopes of increasing successful patient participation in trials. With nearly 20% of clinical trials failing to meet enrollment goals, any new advancements in the treatment of cancer cannot be made available to the public. New medication and procedures won’t see the light of day if they don’t pass clinical trials, and clinical trials cannot be performed without patients enrolling. Let’s hope restrictions such as age requirements and other outdated ideas can make enrolling patients easier on clinicians. #IACTMedicalHeroes
