
Columbus, GA – Pediatric Obesity Research Study
Pediatric obesity refers to the condition of being overweight or obese in children and adolescents. It is a result of excessive accumulation of body fat that can have negative effects on the health, development, and well-being of a child. Pediatric obesity is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) at or above the 95th percentile for age and sex, according to established growth charts. This condition is an important public health concern, as it can lead to various health problems, including diabetes, heart disease, joint problems, and sleep apnea.
Centricity Research is currently enrolling participants in a pediatric obesity study at our Columbus, GA location. Compensation may be available for time and travel for qualified participants.
Qualifications:
You child could qualify for this study if they:
- Are between the ages of 6 and 11
- Have a BMI ≥95th percentile
- Have a history of at least 1 unsuccessful attempt to lose weight
Your teen could qualify for this study if they:
- Are between the ages of 12 and 17
- Have a BMI ≥95th percentile or ≥85th percentile with the presence of at least 1 weight-related comorbidity (hypertension, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, or Type 2 diabetes)
- Have a history of at least 1 unsuccessful attempt to lose weight
Study Duration: Up to 26 months
Compensation for time and travel: Up to $1,425
