If your physician diagnosed you with NASH (Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis) otherwise known as Fatty Liver, it’s important to know how serious your condition has become. FibroScan® is the latest technology to painlessly evaluate the health of your liver. When performed as part of an overall health evaluation, a FibroScan provides valuable information that is usually only available with a painful liver biopsy.
“I’m thankful for my experience with Centricity Research and wish I could be of more assistance in research to ensure other people could avoid Non-alcoholic Liver Disease. Centricity Research did a FibroScan on my liver. The staff was so friendly, professional and down-to-earth. The tech answered all my questions, which took additional time, yet she never rushed me. This eased my anxiety so I wasn’t stressed. I wish all of my liver tests were this easy and informative!”‘

How does NASH develop?
One of the primary functions of the liver is to process and then eliminate fat. The liver isn’t meant to store fat. When there is more than 5% of fat in the liver, this is called steatosis. In an attempt to protect your liver, inflammation and scarring (called fibrosis) starts to occur, which can negatively impact your liver’s functioning.
NASH is serious.
If left unchecked, NASH can be deadly.
Stage 1
Fat in the liver exceeds 5% (steatosis), inflammation occurs, and the liver is bigger than normal. Typically, in stage 1, the liver will continue to function as it normally would but may be compromised.
Stage 2
In addition to stage 1 characteristics, scarring (fibrosis) begins to appear. If you reach this stage, your liver begins to deteriorate into liver failure.
Stage 3
The most severe stage of NASH, the disease deteriorates into full-on cirrhosis or liver cancer. When this happens, the only option left is a liver transplant.

NASH symptoms might not be immediately visible to people in the early stages of the disease. Most people who have NASH feel fine and probably don’t know they have it. As the disease progresses, however, and liver damage gets worse, they may start to see a worsening of symptoms, including extreme tiredness, unexplained weight loss, general weakness, or aching in the upper right part of the abdomen.
Because it may take many years for NASH to become severe enough to cause symptoms, it’s important to get evaluated. Book your free – and pain-free! – FibroScan® today.
