Columbus, GA – Prurigo Nodularis Research Study
Prurigo Nodularis is a skin condition characterized by the formation of intensely itchy, firm bumps on the skin. These bumps, also known as nodules, can range in size from a few millimeters to several centimeters and may be red, brown, or black in color. While they can appear anywhere on the body, they are most commonly found on the arms, legs, and trunk. The exact cause of prurigo nodularis is unknown, but it is commonly associated with other skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis, as well as kidney or liver disease, HIV, and certain medications. The itching associated with prurigo nodularis can be severe and can interfere with daily activities and sleep. Treatment options include topical creams, oral medications, light therapy, and cryotherapy.
