Atrial Fibrillation Research Study

Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is a heart condition in which the heartbeat is irregular and often rapid, causing the upper chambers of the heart (atria) to quiver instead of contracting normally. This can cause the blood to pool in the atria, increasing the risk of blood clots, stroke, heart failure, and other complications. It is the most common type of heart arrhythmia and affects millions of people worldwide. Symptoms include palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain, dizziness, and fainting. Treatment options include medications, lifestyle changes, and procedures such as cardioversion, ablation, or implantation of an artificial pacemaker.
