Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) Research Trial
COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is a type of lung disease that makes it hard to breathe. Generally, it is caused by smoking, but can also be caused by genetics or long-term exposure to pollutants such as dust or certain chemicals. Symptoms of COPD include frequent coughing, shortness of breath during activity, wheezing, and tightness in the chest. COPD can get worse over time and may even lead to more serious problems like heart failure.
