RSV Investigational Vaccine Research Study

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms and can be dangerous for certain adults. Each year, it is estimated that more than 177,000 older adults are hospitalized due to a RSV infection. Adults at highest risk for severe RSV infection include older adults, especially those 65 years and older, adults with chronic heart or lung disease, and adults with weakened immune systems. This is a randomized, double-blind, phase 3 trial to assess clinical efficacy, safety, and reactogenicity of the recombinant MVA-BN-RSV vaccine in adults ≥60 years of age.
Qualifications
- Ages 60 and older
- Healthy with no history of autoimmune disease including Type 1 diabetes
