Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common cause of respiratory tract infections in children and older adults. RSV can lead to serious health conditions like bronchitis, pneumonia, or even hospitalization. There currently is no approved vaccine for RSV. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious, especially for infants and older adults. RSV is the second leading cause of hospitalization for respiratory illness in adults over the age of 65.
